		+	Thank you for helping me win this election! You know I couldn't have done it without all of you!

		+	Now is when my "real" work begins. A different kind of hard work. Just as many hours as the campaign, the same demands on my schedule, the same burden on my family, but with this difference: campaign success can be measured by whether I win. But success as a lawmaker is measured by how much wisdom there is in my speeches and votes, and I can never get enough wisdom.

		+	That's where you can help, if you have any energy left after our hard campaign.

		+	You all have already been meeting together, with me, weekly, to win. What would you think of continuing to meet, to develop wisdom? Some of you already will meet with me individually; you have issues we share, over which we will continue developing wisdom and strategy. You already will help me reason with other lawmakers about your issue. What would you think of meeting regularly with several others, with their own issues, so that we can educate each other, test our presentations, and multiply the number of people available on each issue to help me reason with other lawmakers?

		+	Not that our meetings would only be open to those willing to talk to other lawmakers. There are many other ways to help a cause, and the first way is to develop wisdom through discussion.

		+	How I would love, when facing a vote on a 30 page bill, to look forward to a meeting, in which a few have read it with me, can help me explain it to the others, and then I can hear group discussion of its merits! That wisdom would so enhance my effectiveness in the legislature!

		+	Another thing we could do with a moderate sized group that I can't do alone, is invite people whom we need to reason with to be guest speakers. Decision makers who won't give me an hour of their time would give an hour to speak with our group. And to the extent our members are well informed yet in agreement, that will show our guests that our issue can be understood by average people, which is one of the first things many politicians check before they decide how to vote.

		+	Many of you love the Bible, and you know I do. I think our meetings should welcome relevant Bible discussion for two purposes: to double check whether our issues are as good as we assume, and to inspire each other when our faith falters that our mountain-high goals have been placed by God within our reach, despite how short our arms look to us. And also to keep our discussions focused on what Timothy 3:8-9 calls "good works", refreshed by love, and free of selfish pride.

		+	Our first meeting should probably go over rules. For example, do we need time limits? Shall we vote on topics and on how much time to give them? Shall we create subcommittees when a few want more time on an issue than the rest do? Who else shall we invite to join us? As you know, I couldn't have won without a lot of Democrat votes. If we welcome Democrats into our discussions, that would give us a valuable test of whether our presentations are ready for the public, and for reasoning with other lawmakers. Plus of course when our issues are simply wrong, people who generally disagree with us could be counted on to inform us quickly, saving us valuable time. I experienced a lot of that going door to door.

		+	I pray wisdom-developing meetings can begin quickly, because as you know a lot of good ideas are either born or stillborn before the session even starts.
